Corbin house fire called suspicious

Updated: Thu 7:29 PM, Nov 08, 2012

CORBIN, Ky. (WYMT) - Investigators in Corbin say an abandoned house fire is suspicious.

Tuesday was the second time in less than a year the home on Idaho Street burned.

"It was an abandoned house that had been on fire last December and it re-caught. It was coming through the roof when we got there," said Larry Jones, Corbin Battalion Chief.

In December, investigators found several meth labs inside and determined the meth cooking started the fire.

Thursday, police and firefighters returned to the home to figure out how the latest fire started. It is believed to be arson but the exact cause has not been determined yet.

"Really can't tell. I'm still kind of digging through some stuff and looking into it," said Detective William Rose, Corbin Police Department.

Investigators say anyone with information should call police. All tips can remain anonymous.
