Investigators confirm one person inside the car has died.

The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. on Highway 11, five miles south of the intersection with Highways 80 and 421.

Something caused the car to veer off the road and it landed in a creek.

We're told the mother was driving the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

First responders and other drivers were able to rescue an infant child from the creek. The infant was rushed to the hospital, where emergency room doctors are trying to save the child.

Investigators are in the process of interviewing him, but say he does not speak English well. They are working with an interpreter to interview him and figure out what caused the crash.

Crews are working to remove the car from the creek as well.
