Country music trio offers to pay for Watson family funeral

Country music trio The Band Perry has offered to cover the cost of the funeral for the 9 Watson family members who were killed in a house fire early Thursday morning.

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - Calvary Baptist Church Pastor Tim Burden has confirmed to us that country music trio The Band Perry has offered to cover the cost of the funeral for the 9 Watson family members who were killed in a house fire early Thursday morning.

The Father and one daughter, age 11 are still in a Nashville Hospital recovering after their home was destroyed Thursday morning. The two were the only ones able to make it outside the home.

Burden was on his way to visit them when we spoke to him and he says they are improving slowly, and they are asking for continued prayers for the family.

Burden says they are still taking donations for the family and that all money collected will go the financially support Chad and Kylie on the long road they have to recovery.

The family is asking that people to not donate clothes, since they have no room to store them at this time.

They also cautioned against fake accounts set up for the family.

Instead, they encourage support go to the accounts set up at three bank locations in Muhlenberg County.

Those locations are the Commonwealth Community Bank at 340 Airport Road in Greenville, Old National Bank at P.O. Box 549 in Central City, and First Kentucky Bank at P.O. Box 110 in Central City.
