Appeals process continues for one local county official

HINDMAN, Ky. (WYMT) - The appeals process continues for one local county official.

Knott County Judge Executive Randy Tthompson and three others were convicted in 2008 on charges of buying votes prior to the November 2006 election.

They allegedly allowed county blacktop and gravel to be applied to private drives in exchange for votes.

Attorneys for Thompson and two others have filed requests to overturn the recent ruling that upholds those convictions.
