More heavy thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon across eastern Kentucky. While they are not expected to be as widespread as the past few days, they will be slow movers and could cause more flooding in areas that are already saturated. PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Pike County Judge Executive Wayne T. Rutherford is calling on state officials to provide an earthquake exercise in eastern Kentucky.
Rutherford says he asked for a similar measure from the Director of Kentucky Emergency Management General last year after tremors from a 5.9 quake were felt in Pikeville.
However, Rutherford says he never received a response.
