Updated: Fri 7:23 PM, Sep 30, 2011

In Letcher County two people were airlifted from Highway 15 after a motorcycle accident.

It happened on KY 1148 in the Isom community.

The driver of the motorcycle lost control, flipped, and hit an embankment.

The married couple was not wearing helmets.

Officials say the man and woman both have broken bones and possible concussions.

No other motor vehicles were involved in the accident.

"What we know of right now is there's been two patients that have been airlifted to a hospital in Tennessee. And as of right now that's all we really know," said KSP Trooper Adam Hall.

Trooper Hall confirmed that the hospital they were flown to is Holston Valley.

State police are not releasing the victims' names at this time.

The victims were stable at the scene, but their current conditions are not known.
