Cram the Cruiser ready for donations

Updated: Tue 7:19 PM, Nov 29, 2011

Kentucky State Police have kicked off the 2nd annual Cram the Cruiser Food Drive.

The goal is to fill a police cruiser with non-perishable food items, and then police will donate them to the less fortunate in the area.

KSP in Hazard parked their cruiser Monday, and it's ready to be filled with donations.

Last year more than 21,000 pounds were collected across the state.

"It allows us to give back to our communities basically. We are a very community oriented policing agency, and we like to get out in our community and get involved," said Tony Watts with Kentucky State Police.

You can donate at any KSP post now through December 12th.

Friday December 2nd, the cruiser will be parked in front of the Hazard Walmart, and next Friday December 9th, it will be at the Whitesburg Walmart.
