Crash holds up traffic for hours in Wise County, Virginia

WISE, Va. (WYMT/Bristol Herald Courier) - A crash in Wise, Virginia shut down traffic for about two hours sunday on U.S. 23.

Police told the Bristol Herald Courier the driver of a pickup truck ran off the road, hit a guardrail and flipped the truck onto its top.

The driver, 50 year old Beuford Fogerty and a passenger were taken to area hospitals.

Fogerty was cited for reckless driving and failure to maintain his vehicle.

Speed or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident.
