Now an update to a story we first brought you over the weekend. Officials with Kentucky State Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a hit and run accident that killed two people in Morgan County.
A Facebook tip said Tony Kegley Jr. could be involved with the accident that killed Elizabeth Thronsberry and Tony Ross . Police obtained a warrant and found Kegley owns a vehicle matching the description of the one from the accident. Kegley was arrested and charged with manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident as well as other charges. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Jail.
UPDATE: State Police have released the names of two people killed after a hit-and-run crash in Morgan County.
Police say 41-year-old Elizabeth Thronsberry and 48-year-old Tony Ross were standing in the westbound lane of KY 1010 around 7pm when a vehicle struck them and left the scene.
Police say Thornsberry and Ross were at Jaspers Bar in Maytown KY when Ross left the bar on foot. They say Thornsberry followed him and they believe she had exited the vehicle to talk to him when they were hit.
State Police are looking for a full size blue GMC pickup with damage to the front grill and bumper. They are asking anyone with information to please contact the State Police post at (606) 784-4127.
Kentucky State Police has confirmed two people are dead after a hit and run.
It happened around 7 pm Friday on KY 1010 in Morgan County near Hazel Green.
Police say a man and woman were on the shoulder of the highway when they were hit by a vehicle that then drove away.
