Crews battle forest fires

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A forest fire threatened dozens of homes over the weekend in the Flat Gap community on Lower Second Creek in Perry County.

The Hazard Herald reports the fire was just feet away from several roads.

Fire crews were called and were able to keep the flames away from the homes.

The Division of Forestry says around 250 acres of land burned on Flat Gap.

No injuries were reported.
