WESTWOOD, Ky. (WYMT/WOWK) - The state Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fire that broke out around 12 p.m. Sunday on 2nd Street in the Westwood area of Boyd County, Kentucky.

Westwood Volunteer Fire Department, along with two other local stations, responded to the scene and put out what appeared to be an ignited kerosene heater explosion.

Just about 18 minutes after fire crews left the scene, they were called back to the home for an attic fire. Firefighters say they are absolutely sure the fire was out when they left the scene.

The home's only resident was home at the time of both fires. No one was injured.

The rekindle has caused firefighters to rule it "suspicious".
