The Tennessee Department of Transportation says it has completed a crossover lane on I-75 Southbound in Campbell County.
TDOT completed the lane Wednesday evening. It will reopen southbound traffic for the first time since the collapse of a section of embankment near Mile Marker 144 last week.
The crossover lane will allow one lane of southbound I-75 traffic to shift to one northbound lane. There are now two lanes available for northbound traffic, and one lane for southbound traffic.
TDOT does not have a timetable as to when I-75 South will reopen to normal traffic flow. Drivers carrying wide loads must still take Exit 160 in Jellico and follow SR 297 West to SR 63, then divert back to I-75 South at Exit 141.
