Several people filed in to the Green Hill Senior Citizens Center Wednesday morning to receive gallons and even cases of water.
County officials are working together to fix the problem but in the meantime they urge citizens to conserve their water.
"They've pretty well determined where the water went and everything so now they're just trying to put all that back together so to speak,” Harlan County Sheriff Marvin Lipfird said.
"Use just what you need don't be in a rush to fill the bath tubs up, the sinks, and washing machines. conserve the water as you can,” Ralph Turner said.
Officials found an open valve on Monday and they believe that is what led to the drained water supply.
