BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT)
An oil spill on four Bell County highways is now cleaned up.
Bell County Emergency Management Director Ben Barnett says a truck carrying crude oil spilled the oil on highways KY 2011, KY 221, KY 66, and US-25E on Sunday.
He says the oil made the road slick for cars, but there were no injuries.
Crews worked most of the night and day to clean the roads.
Officials say the roads are safe for travel now.
A large crude oil leak is causing major delays on four different roadways in Bell county.
Police are advising travelers to try and stay off US25 E, KY 66, KY 221, and KY 2011.
They say the leak begins on US 25 E by Junction 66 near Pineville.
They say a leaking tank spilled the oil on these roadways, and many are currently reduced to one lane.
Officials predict the Hazmat cleanup will last several hours.
