C. Wayne Creech has been named the new police chief in the city of Cumberland.

Former Police Chief Kenny Raleigh says in a meeting with Mayor Carl Hatfield this morning he was told his services were no longer needed.

This comes after a heated disagreement between the two where Raleigh claims the mayor harassed him.

"I asked him if there was a reason why he was terminating me and he said he did not have a reason." Raleigh says.

Chief Creech says he hopes all of the disagreeing can now be put to the side.

"My goal is to work with the mayor and city council members and maybe we will get this mess straightened out."

There was a city council meeting scheduled for tomorrow night but we are being told it has been postponed.
