Couple's deaths ruled murder-suicide

Burnside Police say they responded to the shooting inside an apartment on Stone Crest Drive late Wednesday night, where they found a man and woman dead.

Police now believe 31-year-old Mark Willis shot 37-year-old Robyn Slone shortly before shooting himself.

Late Wednesday night into the early morning, neighbors watched as Burnside police combed through the apartment off Highway 27.

"Late last night we saw the police and everything and we knew something bad had happened. You could just kinda tell, it was in the air a little bit," said neighbor Lisa Holliman.

Investigators now believe Mark Willis shot Robyn Slone, then shot himself in the apartment complex. Friends of the two say Slone was a mother and recent grandmother, and was dating Willis. Additional forensic tests will be preformed before Burnside police close the case.
