LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial candidate David
Williams says bad press over the last 10 years is hurting his
campaign for office.
Williams made the statement while doing an interview with the
editorial board at the Lexington Herald-Leader
(http://bit.ly/nigUpn ).
The Burkesville native has been president of the state Senate
since 2000 and says sometimes he has taken the blame for unpopular stances taken by the Senate Republican caucus.
He has been called the "Bully from Burkesville" by opponents
and in newspaper editorials. He says that it is an unfair portrayal
of him. He says "nobody in Burkesville calls me a bully, and few
people in Frankfort do."
