Three dead in Monticello fire

1am Update:

MONTICELLO, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials have confirmed three people, two adults and a child, were killed in a fire Thursday night in Wayne County.

The coroner says a man died at the scene.

A woman and a four year old boy were taken to the hospital in Monticello, where they were pronounced dead.

Arson investigators are still trying to figure out what started the fire.

The names and ages of the victims have not yet been released.

MONTICELLO, Ky. (WYMT) - Investigators are on the scene of a deadly house fire.

Dispatchers tell us the fire broke out just before 10:30 Thursday night at a home on Highway 1009 South near Monticello.

We don't know yet how many people were killed in the fire, or what caused it.

The coroner tells us he is on the scene. We have a crew en route and will have the latest on Mountain News This Morning.
