Police first said Hall had died, but later Tuesday night, they said she was still alive and had been taken to UK Hospital.
Police tell us Derickson then drove to what he believes is the home of Hall's new boyfriend, on Karen Drive. They say a neighbor apparently saw Derickson and confronted him with a baseball bat. That's when police say Derickson shot the neighbor twice in the face, killing her.
Police say, Derickson then left that location in his car. Police caught up to him and set up a road block at a nearby Save-A-Lot. At the road block police say Derickson pulled out a weapon. That's when officers shot at him, through the windshield. He was not hit.

Police say Derickson had a 38 revolver that carried six rounds on him. They say four of the six rounds had been discharged and are all accounted for.
