More heavy thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon across eastern Kentucky. While they are not expected to be as widespread as the past few days, they will be slow movers and could cause more flooding in areas that are already saturated. The Johnson County Sheriff told WYMT Mountain News a 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at a local hospital after he was taken there from the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
The sheriff says the man was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges out of Morgan County but would not tell us what those charges are.
The coroner tells us the man was pronounced dead just before five on Friday evening at the hospital.
Officials say they are not ruling out foul play but at this time it's just a death investigation.
They are handing the case over to Kentucky State Police.
