An investigation is underway in Laurel County after the death of a five-year-old.
Thursday morning, the Laurel County Sheriff's Office received a call that a five-year-old had developed breathing difficulties and was being transported from a motel in Corbin to a hospital.
The investigation is continuing, but police do not suspect foul play.
"The child had apparently had an injury a couple of years ago and had breathing difficulties as a result. And that's why we feel like the child died of natural causes," said Gilbert Acciardo with the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.
The child and the child's parents are from Florida and were visiting relatives in Corbin.
