Dedication held for fallen Marine

Hundreds gathered at A.B. Combs Elementary to witness a dedication ceremony for a fallen marine.

Corporal Larry Napier grew up in Hazard and died in April of this year.

A bridge in Perry County was dedicated to him near M.C. Napier High School on Highway 476 where he graduated in 1984.

His brother says he believes Larry was watching.

“It is a great honor. Larry had many friends growing up in a small community where everybody knows you, it is great to see everyone here, a lot of people could not make it here today as it is a work day during the work week, but I think Larry would have really loved it and he is looking down on us, probably got the big head right now as we know Larry,” Mike Napier

Napier was forty six years old.

He died of natural causes.
