Updated: Thu 7:48 PM, Nov 29, 2012

HYDEN, Ky (WYMT) - The trial for Charles Dwight Watts continued Thursday in Leslie County.

Watts is accused of killing Kelly Johnson and Chad Muncy.

The prosecution rested their case Thursday morning after calling three witnesses to the stand.

First up was Misty Simpson. She testified that someone named Dwight called her from Chad Muncy's cell phone number after his body was found.

Later Irma Jean Muncy, Chad's grandmother, also took the stand. She testified that Dwight told her details that week about Chad's injuries and that he put up a fight.

The defense called several witnesses to the stand trying to show that there were other people that wanted to hurt Chad Muncy.

Dwight Watts' mother was also called to the stand. She said the night of Chad's murder, Dwight left in these clothes and came back in the same clothes.

She also says there was no blood on them.

The trial will continue on Friday where it could potentially be sent to the jury.
