The rain will transition over to snow as we head into mid to late morning across the area. We will see the chances for light accumulation in the valley areas with 1-3" possible on the ridge tops above 2000 feet. Slick spots are possible on untreated roads. While significant snow is not expected, we have issued a Severe Weather Alert Day to keep you informed on possible negative impacts to travel through Tuesday afternoon.
WHITLEY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Whitley County sheriff's deputies are asking for the communities help with a scam investigation.
Officers are looking for 21-year-old Mark Anthony Adams of Laurel County.
In February Adams told one homeowner he worked for the Cumberland Valley RECC and needed to install lightning rods to protect their home.
After installation Adams told the homeowner the cost for the rods was $8,000.00.
When she refused to pay Adams dropped the price to $4,000 and said he would lose his job if he did not get the money.
After she wrote a check to Adams for the $4,000.00 he disappeared, but not for long.
Sheriff Colan Harrell said he returned, "Adams had a chainsaw in his hand and said that he needed to do some work around that residence."
The woman told him to leave and called the sheriff's office.
