Deputies say passenger cut driver in the neck with a knife

Officials with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department are investigating an alleged stabbing that happened early Sunday morning.

Deputies say Randall Jenkins of Corbin was driving on Kentucky 312 when his passenger allegedly cut him on his neck with a knife.

The passenger, Michael Alsip, of Corbin, fled from the car into the woods nearby but returned to the scene after officers arrived.

Alsip is charged with 1st degree assault and is lodged at the Laurel County Jail.
