Floyd County Sheriff's deputies say they caught a man in the act of trying to steal copper.
Deputies say someone in the community reported suspicious behavior in the Town Branch area near Prestonsburg.
Officers say when they arrived, they found someone trying to take copper from phone wires.
They arrested 36 year old Robert Blanton.
He is charged with complicity to commit theft.
Officials say no copper was actually taken.
