Dog involved in attack will be put down

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A dog involved in an attack on a young girl will be put down.

Police say the dog broke off its chain last month.

It attacked eight year old Arissa Kestner and left her with serious injuries.

Court officials tell us the dog's owner, Donnie Castle, agreed to allow the dog to be put down.

Castle will not be allowed to own a dog for two years.
If he is caught it will be euthanized and he will stand trial.

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The owner of one Johnson County dog now faces charges.

Officials say the dog owned by Donnie Castle attacked a young girl last month leaving with what was described as serious injured.

Prosecutors charged Castle with harboring a vicious animal.

Castle's wife apologized for the incident during an interview with WYMT.

He pleaded not guilty Monday in district court.
Another court date is set for Wednesday.
