The Mountain Harvest Food Drive is underway across eastern Kentucky, and your donations are needed.

WYMT is partnering with God's Pantry Food Bank for the food drive, and they say right now donations are down.

"We always try to help everybody with any organizations that feed the hungry that we can," said Debbie Chapman, manager of the Food City in Pikeville where a food box is located.

People can donate non-perishable food items at the stores listed below. From there, a local agency will take the food and distribute it in the same community where it was donated.

Frank Crum is the President of Hope Incorporation in Pikeville which is a food bank that is participating.

Crum says right now any and all donations are needed because of a lack in funding. Plus, he says the need is greater.

"We see different people now. We see people coming who have never had to do this before because of the job situation," said Crum.

The boxes will be out year round, and every item donated will help someone in your community.

You can donate at one of these locations:
- Kroger, Food City, Walmart in Middlesboro
- Walmart in Jackson
- Walmart in Manchester
- Walmart in Honaker
- Food City in Oil Spring
- Walmart in Paintsville
- Kroger in Corbin
