HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WYMT/WSAZ) - Dozens of works have been laid off at plants in West Virginia and Kentucky.

Dwight Weber, a spokesman for Precision Castparts, the parent company for Special Metals, tells our sister station that 74 workers have been let go at the Huntington plant.

Seven were also laid off at the Burnaugh, Ky., plant.

Weber says adverse business conditions are to blame.

Most of the workers came from the production and maintenance departments.

Weber says the employees will be recalled as business improves.

After the layoffs, 542 hourly employees work at the Huntington plant and 125 in Burnaugh.
