On Wednesday, January 25, 2012, the Kentucky State Police Richmond Post conducted a drug roundup in Lee County. The 18 month investigation, which has focused on illegal narcotics sales in the area, is intended to limit the availability of drugs and to remove those individuals who sell them. 26 warrants were issued for various drug offenses. Arrested individuals are;
1. Sherman Chambers, 51 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
2. Timothy Chambers, 49 years old, Beattyville KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
3. Tryle Tutt, 35 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
4. Ricky Reece, 45 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
5. Shelby Goe, 67 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
6. Linda Turner, 41 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 2nd Degree
7. Clifford Gilbert, 60 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
8. Christopher Thacker, 29 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
9. Bessie Wade, 50 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
10. David Johnson, 43 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with 3 counts of Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
11. Latonya Maher, 23 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree
12. Angela Turner, 30 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with 3 counts of Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Trafficking in Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
13. Carol Jones, 34 years old, Beattyville, KY. Charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree and an outstanding Warrant for Felony Theft by Unlawful Taking
"Illegal narcotics are a continuing problem for law enforcement and society" commented the Richmond Post Commander, Captain Lisa Rudzinski "Detectives will use every resource available to investigate those who continue to participate in this illegal activity."
