Eastern Kentucky University has approved an operating budget of nearly $236 million for 2012-2013, as state money dropped by 6.5%.
That amounts to about $4.5 million less from the state. That's the same percentage decrease all public universities are coping with in Kentucky.
Tuition for in-state undergrads will go up to 5%.
The EKU Board of Regents also heard that fall enrollment is up to 1% from this time last year, and to meet the demand, an additional summer orientation session has been added for the first time in three years.
