The local music duo Sundy Best was one of the opening acts for the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert on Thursday in Pikeville.

Kris Bentley and Nick Jamerson are both Eastern Kentucky natives.

They said it was surreal to perform as one of the opening acts for Lynyrd Skynyrd, especially since the concert took place on their old stomping grounds.

"It would be awesome to open up with Lynyrd Skynyrd anywhere, but the fact that it's in our backyard and that we're gonna be able to share this night with our friends and families.. thats the best part of it," said Nick Jamerson.

"Hopefully we'll get some new fans and keep the ones that we already have," said Kris Bentley. "Most importantly, I just want to enjoy it and soak it in."

The band released their first studio-recorded album, "Door Without a Screen," in June.

They also just launched a website.
