Severe weather looks likely on Saturday afternoon. The best chances appear to be between 2 p.m. Saturday and Midnight. Damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain, and an isolated tornado or two are possible. The area at the greatest risk for severe weather in eastern Kentucky is in the Cumberland Valley, near the I-75 corridor. Keep it locked here for updates.
A family returns home to find their house burned to the ground.
Dallas and Cassandra Conn and their family left their home on Roberts Road in Stanton early Sunday morning to go visit family and were not home when the fire began.
It started sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
Cassandra Conn says she's thankful no one was home.
"What we have left is what God meant for us to have: our life," Conn said. "Only thing that's important to me is me, my kids and my husband's lives."
Fire crews had the flames knocked down by 8:30 a.m. They did have to return Sunday afternoon because the remains began smoldering again.
Neighbors have been stopping by to take care of the family and some have even bought clothes for the Conn's children. The Red Cross has also been in touch with the family.
Fire investigators will be on the scene Monday to try and figure out what caused the fire.
