RADCLIFF, Ky. (AP) - Police in Kentucky are searching for an inmate who walked away from a work detail at a central Kentucky jail.
Hardin County Jailer Danny Allen told The News-Enterprise that 20-year-old Ryan Jones of LaFollette, Tennessee, was last seen at Saunders Springs in Radcliff around 2 p.m. Friday.
Guards couldn't find Jones an hour later, prompting the search.
Jones originally was arrested in Whitley County on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree fleeing or evading police.
The state transferred Jones to Hardin County in April for the work-release program. Jones was scheduled to be released in May.
Allen says based on Jones' phone conversations from Thursday night, investigators believe he is headed toward Dayton, Ohio.
