PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - The weather provided a perfect afternoon for Easter egg hunts across the region. Hundreds spent the Saturday before Easter out at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park as the park hosted their annual Easter egg hunt
Trinity Shepherd says," We have 3,000 eggs hid throughout the campground and kids can come out and find all the candy and toy filled eggs. We also have prize eggs that kids can find and get a prize at the end of the egg hunt."
Young egg hunters strategized and anxiously awaited for the hunt to begin. Jaden Blackburn explains, "They cut the tape and I immediately started running and I tried to find patches of several eggs. If I saw one egg but then saw a whole bunch together, I wouldn't get the one and I'd go after the whole pack."
Park officials say it took just under four minutes for all 3,000 eggs to be found. After those four minutes, kids looked through their baskets...satisfied with their findings. Blackburn says, "Before it started I was really worried but then I just decided to go for it...Happy Easter!"
Shepherd says park officials look forward to the annual event, "It is nice to see al the kids coming out and enjoying finding all the eggs and it is a really nice family atmosphere we have got out here."
The park will be hosting their Easter buffet on Sunday, from 12-8, at the May Lodge.
