Eastern Kentucky boy battling cystic fibrosis breaks world record for most Christmas cards ever received

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - An eastern Kentucky boy hoping to break a world record has succeeded, thanks to an overwhelming response.

Dalton Dingus, 9, of Salyersville, is battling stage four cystic fibrosis, and was trying to beat the Guiness World Record for the most Christmas cards ever received.

His goal was 10,000 cards. The previous record sat at 35,000.

As of Tuesday, WKYT is told Dalton has received more than 37,000 cards, breaking the world record for most cards ever received by an individual.
