Elderly man killed when train crashes into his SUV

A man is dead after a train hits a SUV in Knox County.

Police say 83 year-old Delmer Bright's vehicle collided with a CSX train at a railroad crossing on Cumberland Avenue in Barbourville.

83 year old Delmer Bright was traveling on Cumberland Avenue, away from Barbourville, when his car crashed into the train engine.

The train was not carrying any cargo officials say they do not see many train crashes and have seen none in this area before.

Bright was pronounced dead at Knox County Hospital after being transported by fire officials.

Police are not releasing any more information on the accident, and they say it is an ongoing investigation.
