LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - More than a dozen demonstrators gathered to accuse a Louisville entertainment district of using a dress code to carry out racial profiling.
The Courier-Journal reports that Monday's rally was attended by a former security guard supervisor at 4th Street Live and people who said they were racially profiled at the venue.
Speakers urged Cordish Co., which owns 4th Street Live, to be more consistent in how it applies the dress code.
John Michaels, a former security supervisor at the venue, said he saw how the dress code affected minorities more than others. He told the protesters that he was sorry if he ever turned any of them away.
A meeting with the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky and Cordish is scheduled for later in the week.
