Event raises money for victims of tornado outbreak

Two young woman organized a fundraiser to help tornado victims.

The Light After The Storm fundraiser was held Friday night, on the three week anniversary of the tornado outbreak.

It took place at the Carl Perkins Center in Morehead.

The organizers raised money through food, music, a silent auction and t-shirt sales.

"This whole situation, just a shift in the wind and it could have easily been us. And we know these other communities would have done the same thing. These are our friends, our families, our co-workers," said organizer Darcy Gillock.

The money will go to tornado victims in several eastern Kentucky counties.
