FEMA office opens in Perry County

Tuesday marked the first day a FEMA office was open in Perry County.

The office is located at the senior citizens building in the Perry County Park and will be open until September 10th.

All June flood victims seeking assistance are asked to register online or on the phone.

After registering, an inspector will come assess the damage to see if it qualifies for FEMA aid.

"It's a fairly quick process. I know it's been a long time coming but once you do get registered and an inspector comes out the process usually goes pretty quickly,” Renee Bafalis, FEMA PIO Officer said.

FEMA officials say once the office closes in Perry County, people can still register.

The deadline to do that is October 31st.
