Facebook Angels helps nursing home residents

Unwrapping presents on Christmas morning is a tradition for both young and old, but there will be some who don't have a single gift to unwrap.

One Floyd County man is working to change that.

This year Brent Graden of Prestonsburg is using social media to spread holiday cheer.

His facebook page shows the Christmas lists of 77 nursing home residents and you can pick which person you want to buy for.

“I think when you want to make a change to the area you look to give rather than to receive,” Graden said.

The employees at Riverview Health Care say that the best part about programs like facebook angels is that everyone receives a present.

The Christmas wish lists are as unique and original as the residents at Riverview Health Center.

What does Graden want for Christmas? "Definitely seeing a great smile on the residents. A lot of them are older, they've done great things to society and I definitely think that our community can give back to that too and that's what it’s all about."

Gifts will be collected until December 20th.
