Fake bills pop-up in Perry County

Workers at a Perry County gas station are warning others to be on the lookout for counterfeit money.

Drew's Mini-Mart received two counterfeit twenty dollar bills that were undetected by a counterfeit pen.

The store owner said she did not realize until she went to the bank that the money was fake and even officials had trouble identifying it.

The owner doesn't want to see the same thing happen to businesses around town.

“In town there are some floating around, double check, kindly take your time, be careful, look at your bills even though you are busy,” Peggy Miller said.

If you have any information about the counterfeit money, you can call the Perry County Sheriff's Office.
