The soldier was killed while serving in Afghanistan and today he was laid to rest.
Family and friends are mourning the loss of Dustin Napier today, but even perfect strangers stopped by to lay this fallen soldier to rest.
Diana Mounce never met Dustin, but she’s one of hundreds who came to pay respect.
“I can’t imagine losing a child, let alone in the military,” Mounce said.
She, along with the Patriot Guard, have kept watch over Dustin’s body until sending him home to his final resting place.
“It's an honor to be able to do this for the family and the military,” Mounce said.
Hopefully, giving support to a family and a community that has lost a son.
The city of London does not mourn alone today, the entire state does.
Governor Beshear announced that all flags are to remain at half-staff in observance of his funeral.
