Hazard Police tell Mountain News Emma Fields was found overnight. We will have more details on this story later today on WYMT.
Search and rescue crews in Perry County are still looking for a woman whose family said she walked out of the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital Emergency Room during the weekend and disappeared.
Officials from the Hazard Police Department said they confirmed that Emma Fields was in the hospital E.R. Sunay but now she is nowhere to be found. Family members said she has a health condition and they want her home safe.
“I am scared to death, I really am,” said Billie Davis.
Davis, the older sister of 50-year-old Emma Fields' said she and the rest of her family want to find her.
“I am afraid for her, she has been in the woods for probably since four or five yesterday until right now,” said Davis.
Officials and loved ones have been searching for Fields since Sunday. Her family said they are worried about her physical and mental health.
“She has taken a stomach medication, regulin, that had severe side affects that had caused issues for probably around five or six months,” said Davis.
Davis said the medication left Fields with brain lesions which caused her to have psychotic episodes.
Fields family said they are told she was last seen at Crawford Mountain road. They said they just want to get her back where she belongs.
“She is so afraid and that is what is scary to me and being in the woods, you know, and dehydration, hunger, snakes,” said Davis.
“It has terrified me, it really has.”
Police, fire and rescue crews said they have not had any luck.
“We have been all around through Crawford Mountain and all through the, searched the hillsides, through the creeks up there and the ditch lines, round houses, culverts and a couple of the cemeteries on top of the hill up there,” said Avawam Fire Chief Leonard Toler.
Fields was last seen wearing a red and white shirt with pink pajama pants and no shoes. She is around 5’1’’ weighing 110 pounds. There is also a facebook page set up at
