PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Many fans said it looked, sounded and felt like fall at football fields across the mountains. The first night of the 2012 high school season is on the books and the sports enthusiasts were excited to support their favorite teams.

Fans of all ages filled the stands as the Friday night lights came on Prestonsburg High School's new turf...

“They have a great start off to a new year, they got a new field, the field's awesome, the best in the state, a great team,” said James Little, a Prestonsburg High School Football Alum.

Though she was rooting for the opposing team, one teacher, football mom and Perry County Central High School Volleyball Coach said it was the atmosphere that got her adrenaline going.

“Obviously there's nothing like the boys of fall!” said Michelle Pray.
“Everybody's so excited!”

The Black Cats hosted the Perry County Central Commodores and fans said they could not wait for kick off.

“Perry Central, they might bring a little to the table but i think it's going to be all cats tonight,” said Little, prior to kickoff.

No matter which team they were rooting for, all fans agree they were ready, to put their game faces on.

Fans said they will wear their game faces win or lose.
