Football teams all across the Bluegrass took the field tonight for their play-off games and despite the cold weather, fans were out in full force to support them.
It was a cold night for high school football, but the fans were out in full force tailgating and supporting their teams despite the cold.
"The weather doesn't matter. They're Pirate fans through and through," said members of the Gibb family, who were all rooting for the Belfry Pirates.
"Even if it's cold. Their our team. We love them," said a few students from Somerset.
The fans were prepared for the cold and bundled up.
"The best thing I have is this sleeping bag. It's wonderful," said Jenny Epperson, a Somerset fan.
"I've got about 3 or 4 different layers on; a sweater, another shirt, this big coat and my jumper rally rag right here," said Harold Megargel, a Somerset fan.
But the excitement of the game kept people on their feet
"Once the game gets started you get so excited and everything you forget about the cold," said Sandra Bentley, a Belfry fan.
"We have to have our jumper spirit and just jump up and down and cheer for our boys. Just dress warm and yell for your boys that's what you got to do," said members of the Somerset band.
Both teams came to play, but only one will walk away the winner.
