Fatal crash in Perry County

FUSONIA, Ky (WYMT) --- Kentucky State Police are currently investigating after a wreck in Perry County this morning.

On March 22nd, at approximately 6:58 a.m., Kentucky State Police received a call from the Perry County 911 of a two vehicle collision on Route 7 in the Fusonia community of Perry County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle operated by Jordan Shepherd, 25 of Jeff, lost control of his vehicle, crossed over the center line and collided with the vehicle operated by Dwight Eversole, 59 of Yerkes.

Jordan Shepherd was transported to the Hazard ARH for treatment. Dwight Eversole was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Perry County Coroner.

No safety belts were in use at the time of the collision and the investigation is continuing by Trooper Brandon Thomas.
