A Middlesboro father says he had no idea there was an active meth lab in his home near his four children.
Last week Middlesboro police busted a meth lab and arrested five people.
Now the father of four wants to share his side of the story from behind bars.
While Willie Smith declined our request for an interview last week, now he says he wants to talk.
Smith has a criminal history. This is his second stay at the detention center this month ... he says he did not know meth was being cooked in his basement.
"I just think my rights have been violated. I'm being held at an unreasonable bond and being accused of something I didn't do," said Smith.
Smith says his friends Jack and Crystal Elliott were cooking meth just a few feet away from him while he was sleeping.
Police arrested all five adults in the home. Smith says three people had nothing to do with it.
"I want to make clear my wife, my dad, and I had no knowledge anything was going on," said Smith.
Smith says the hardest part about being behind bars is that he will not get to be with his family during the holidays.
The four children are with family.
Smith is being held on a 250 thousand dollar bond.
Jack and Crystal Elliott have not agreed to an interview.
Middlesboro Police say they do not want to comment about Smith at this time.
