Federal appeals court strikes down EPA rule

A federal appeals court struck down an EPA rule that would require coal-fired power plants to cut air quality pollution.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports the cross-state air pollution rule was supposed to go into effect in January, but several states and large power companies sued to stop it.

The EPA says it is reviewing the decision and will figure out what steps to take.
