Festival in Williamsburg in its 30th year

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Thirty years ago, a festival began in Williamsburg and organizers say it is now bigger than ever.

Saturday was the last day of this year's old fashioned trading days festival. This year is the 30th anniversary for the event. Organizers say more people have come this year than in years past.

"It's just been a thing that's been passed on for years. I came as a child. My children come now. It's something that we just really look forward to," said Deidra Croley, a native of Williamsburg.

"Supporting local is a really important thing and keeping the money in our economy and stimulating that and just a sense of family," said Cortney Moses, who is also a native of Williamsburg.

City officials say next year's festival will be the weekend after Labor Day.
